The Westwood Saloon has the old, small-town saloon feeling, something
I haven't experienced since I moved from West Richland, WA.
The people
there were warm, friendly and protective of us newcomers.
The night started
with karaoke and there were a full line-up of singers.
At 9:30 pm, Asiya started the dancing. She was cute and entertaining.
Flirting with the audience members, she wrapped her veil around
one gentleman's
head. He wore the turban well as he blushed from the attention.
Next, was Sweih.
Her dancing was intricate, detailed, and internal. It was
a longer number (Jalilah's ?),
filled with shimmies. Then, came Jawahir Bahiya. She
was absolutely adorable. Like Asiya,
she was playful with the audience and toyed with the music.
Following the solos, the
ladies came out to perform a candle dance. After the candle
dance, they moved about
the audience dancing at each of the tables. The audience loved
them and inserted tips
into the ladies' garb and accessories.
Another set was due at 11:00 pm, but we had to leave. The ladies'
plan was to perform
a drum solo on the bar.
Great job ladies! We enjoyed the show.
