Amar Gamal Spokane Workshop Review

Amar Gamal is a polished dance instructor.  Her approach and material was organized, practical, and fun.  Furthermore, she kept an eye on our posture and stressed the importance of staying centered throughout the day.

First, she lead us through a series of warm up exercises.  The warm-ups transitioned into stretching, and then, we moved into belly dance basics.
Her workshop covered combinations, shimmies, vibrations, and traveling moves.   Since the overall focus was hipwork, we layered shimmies with all sorts of moves.

Although we started out facing the mirrors, we also gathered around into a circle.  This layout ensured everyone could see Amar clearly.  We also broke into teams and cheered each other on as we practiced particular moves or combinations of moves.

Of course, the workshop wouldn't be a great workshop without the rest of the dancers.  This was a wonderful group.  Everyone was supportive, and it was  pleasure to dance with them.

Amar Gamal is a true beauty:  internally and externally.  She is gracious, warm, and seems to sincerely care about others.  I am grateful that she agreed to share her knowledge with us.

Thank you Amar.

Thank BDSS.
